Some of my Toys.

It started in March of last year. I was looking for a way to Protect myself, my family. I ran across a certain website, asked questions and got answers.
I was offered a trip to the range by a member there. I hesitated but went for it. Best decision of my life.
At first, I was overwhelmed. I was nervous. I didn't know anything about firearms. Hell, I was the last person on earth you would suspect to be into guns. But the guy I was with, taught me a lot. We took the first bit of time going over "safety" and from there we went on to the basics. Before you know it, I was shooting his 9mm and thinking "I've GOT to get into this!". I believe it was a pleasant experience because of the gentlemen that took me. He taught me to respect firearms.

Now, 10 months later...I have 5 different guns. The list is constantly growing.

My Bersa Thunder .380.My newest addition to the family. I'm accurate with this firearm and it is easy to conceal and slim enough to carry comfortably. So far, I really like it.

My Springfield Armory 1911-A1. This is the firearm I trained with until I purchased the Bersa. I am accurate with this gun as well, but because of the size (5 inch barrel) I can not carry it on my small frame, without feeling as though I have some sort of Rocket attached to my hip. My 1911 is still my favorite. I love this gun.

My SKS. It's my one and only rifle. Shoots 7.62 x 39. At first I didn't care for this rifle. But since I've gotten it out and learned some things about it, I LOVE IT. This is another one I will not be getting rid of anytime soon.

Family Picture, Before the Bersa. You will also see my 9x18 Makarov. My first firearm. Got a great deal on it, and it did me well until I could find more great deals. I still have this gun. Also my break-top S&W .32. Needs a new trigger pin, but I am planning on getting it fixed soon.

So...There they are. I could name 100 more I want! What an awesome hobby and GREAT way to protect yourself. Now that I know what I do...I will NEVER be w/o some sort of firearm.

I'm sure a lot of my blogging will have to deal with Guns in one way, shape or form.

Hello. In case you're wondering how you can start a Blog, and all of a sudden get a bunch of comments -- Annie told us to stop by and say "hi." Many are afraid of her, and do what she says. I am not such a person, I came because she said you were "hot."
Since you are a newbie, I feel compelled to give you some advice. Take care of your teeth while you're young. If you spend much time in the sun, and get any new, strange pinkish (or worse) spots, get it checked out. If you're going to carry the rifle around in public, remove the bayonet. Otherwise people will just think you're crazy. (It may be too late for that, if you're seen hanging around with Annie.)
There is a difference between having OCD and just being anal, or precise. You shouldn't tell people you're OCD if you're not. But the clock thing makes me think you may be right. (Or, maybe you're crazy in general.) Oh, and there are such things as clocks that don't tick. Tell your husband that. As a husband, he should know by now that he is to do as he's told.
I'm not sure Rhody is real; hell, I don't even know if Rhode Island is real.
Get something in .22LR, cheap and fun to shoot.

Don't let that "Annie" gurl teach you any bad habbits about "listing" anything! LOL! She's a Doll and I'm glad you were able to become friends with a Shooter Chick! And welcome to the world of shooting. If she ever convinces you to visit or even join RFC, don't forget your wading boots! LOL!

LMAO. This is just cracking me up.

Annie, Thank you for sending your people to say "hello", and give me all kinds of strange advice.

See guys, I told Annie to have her people contact my people but instead she sent you straight to the source....ME.

If you don't know already, I'm a lurker at good 'ole RFC. Have been for a while. I just sit back and giggle about you all. :)

Again, thanks for the comments! YAY...I have followers.

Now if someone could PLEASE explain the rest of "blogging" for me...I'm all ears!

And Steven...Could you please tell my husband to listen and obey me? It would sure help!

RM

She lurks at RFC?? Holy Crapolie. I did not know.
Geez...take a chick out balloon shootin' and you expect her not to hold out on you.
Hmmphf.

Well Annie, why the heck do you have a different name there? I hadn't been on in a week or so and when I did, I saw some "JetGirl" talking about the outing I had with a friend. I was about to get all kinds of Ninja on someone...but it's you. And I must be nice to you. You ARE the Ice Ball destroyer! :)

Annie said...

That is so cracking me up.
I've been "JetGirl" just about as long as I've been "Annie". My dad said so. :p

I don't understand what you mean by "strange advice." If you're talking about me, I was being helpful. Also, lurking and giggling at RFC? If you're going to laugh at us, at least join in, so we'll have reason to make fun of you. (JetGirlAnnie gives us lots of reasons to make fun of her.) When you're together in real life, does she make up words?
You don't know how to make your husband listen to you and obey you?! You're a woman, he's a man; you have ... jeez!, do I really have to spell it out?

Rachel said...

Thanks... I spit on my computer. I'll send you the bill!

I tried signing up over there...But my mail acct isn't letting me in. Must be the server?! Anyways, I'll be there when I can activate my *&^(% account.

Annie said...

For the record; I NEVER MakeUpify words.
THAT was a completely fabrificated informationite.

Hi Rachel,
Just stopped by to say hi from the RFC. JetGirl (Annie) said you where a shooterchick friend of her's and we should check out your blog. You have a very nice collection of firearms. The pic's are great. That Bersa Thunder looks like a nice carry piece. I have an S&W Aigweight .38 special and a Khar MK40 I use for carry. So, it looks like you might want to add a .22 to your collection in the future. The .22 is a fun gun and very affordable to shoot! Come on over to RimFireCentral and check out all the gun's and folks there. I promise, we don't bite...LOL

Well Hi from RFC Spurs101. Glad to see your enjoying the shooting - yeah annie sent us over to say hi and welcome.

Rachel (is it RA-chel or Rah-KEL?)
JG aka Jetgirl aka Annie is reponsible for all sorts of mischief over on RFC.com, but we humor her, and hopefully by checking out your blog we can all stay off her LIST.
Glad she has a female friend to shoot with which may temper her ire with we, the reprobates of RFC. Nice to welcome another gun enthusiast into the fold. Take care.

Happy shooting.

I'm glad to hear that the Bersa is working out well for you. I think you'll like it even more as time goes on.......

Annie said...

And as time goes on, your friends will probably like shooting it, too...soooo Win/Win!!

Hey RM, It's my understanding that you're new to shooting. Welcome to the sport - it's a blast "literally". If you can, pick up a decent Mossberg .22, they can be had for much less than $200 and will outshoot most anything out there. Enjoy, Glad ya' joined us! Tom

Please get the S&W .32 up & running! What a great piece of history of which to be caretaker. :-)

Nice blog, kudos to you. I've never gotten around to starting one [let's face it: I'm boring & nobody cares what I have to say! ;-)]

Annie said your blog was worth checking out, & she was right. Welcome to the nation of Free Americans: I hope your example will inspire more of our neighbors to explore their heritage of liberty!

Nice to see Sophia stopping by. She is our CZ expert and has really helped many shooters out. We learned when Sophia speaks - listen. Don't go to the CZ threads - the rifles are addictive and that Kadet pistol is one fantastic fun shooter. Seriously - you won't find a more technicaly knowledge group always willing to help. The longer you stay with RFC you'll find it is a very unique place on the web.
